Le Moyne College Liberty Partnerships Program Alumni

When did you graduate high school, and which high school did you attend?
I graduated from Henninger High School in 2014.

What are you up to now?
After graduating with my BSSW from Falk College at Syracuse University I decided to take a step back from social work and explore the world of beauty/cosmetics! I’ve been working full-time as a Bobbi Brown Ambassador at Lord & Taylor for about a year now. I definitely see my career blossoming with this brand!

How did you get involved with Liberty Partnerships?
I became involved with LPP my freshman year of high school. I was struggling in geometry so my mom looked into different resources. LPP seemed like the best match for me!

What are some of your favorite activities/programs that you did through Liberty Partnerships?
My hands-down favorite activity I did through LPP was the trip to Boston we took! We were able to go to the aquarium and whale watching. It was a super fun experience! Other than that, I genuinely enjoyed the tutoring I received. The tutors were always so knowledgeable and fun, too! They never gave up no matter how many tries it took to get it right. It was always a great experience!

Describe how Liberty Partnerships shaped your life both in and out of the classroom
LPP helped shape my life in and out of the classroom in a variety of ways. In the classroom, I felt more at ease and able to absorb the information I was learning because I knew that if there was something I didn’t fully understand that the tutors at LPP would be able to help me get it right. I also learned to have more grace with myself. Outside of the classroom, LPP gave me the confidence to explore what I really wanted to do after high school. Mary Pat Clark helped arrange a few shadowing experiences for me at different social work agencies. Along with Mary Pat, the tutors also helped me perfect my college essays which granted me admission to all four schools I applied to – Syracuse University, New York University, Fordham University and SUNY Albany. I’m forever grateful!

What are you most proud of?
I’m most proud of the fact that I have come this far in life and have accomplished everything that I have (with a lot of help from others!). I can honestly say that I’m not sure it all would have been possible if not for LPP!

What advice do you have for current students
My biggest piece of advice is to never doubt yourself! There will be plenty of obstacles to come your way throughout life, but as long as you always believe in yourself, anything is possible. Also, DO NOT be afraid to ask for help! Help is almost always there so long as you ask for it.
