Jamestown Community College LPP

What year did you graduate high school?
2021

What is the name of the school you attended?
Dunkirk Senior High School

What are you up to now?
Working at Purina full time right now, but I want to go back to college for Social Work.

How did you get involved with Liberty Partnerships?
It was on my schedule. I do believe I had the option to leave the program or stay. So I kept it and met miss Kate who helped me out through out high school. The other LPP staff was also helpful. Even after I graduated they still help me when I need it.

What are some of your favorite activities/programs that you did through Liberty Partnerships?
I loved the college trips, but my favorite was the Youth Summit trip to Utica. I went on almost every single trip and enjoyed each one of them. At my school I never really liked the people or the environment I was in, but with LPP the people I was around always had good energy.

Describe how Liberty partnerships shaped your life both in and out of classroom?
It shaped me into the person I am today. I learned how to take action when it’s best and improve my decision making. I learned several life skills that I use to this day. I’ve also learned how to take accountability for my mistakes and learn from them.

What are you most proud of?
I’m proud to say I was part of LPP.

What advice do you have for current students?
Even though it does seem hard and you can’t wait to get out of high school, the real life is harder. I don’t say that to scare anyone, I say that so you can focus more in school and the importance of it. I know it sucks and can be boring, but with this program I promise you will be able to do anything you ever wanted. Sooner or later you be will graduate and your life will actually start. LPP will help with anything you need.
