Liberty Partnerships’ authorizing legislation states; “the failure of many young New Yorkers to complete their secondary education limits their opportunity for a life of fulfillment, prevents them from advancing into postsecondary education and hinders the State’s efforts to provide a well-trained workforce for business and industry in New York. To develop an age appropriate workforce development program aligned with each LPP’s respective Regional Economic Development Council that prepares and positions students to acquire the skills and education necessary for 21st century careers.


Research – Discovering best practices, model programs and supporting evidence.

Alignment – How does current Liberty methodologies and programming parallel evidence based strategies and model programs.

Recommendations – Providing practical, evidence-based information, which fellow programs can apply to be in compliance with program requirements, regional economic development strategies and the Common Core State Standards Initiative.

Presentation – Framing Liberty’s workforce development practices to demonstrate consistency with Common Core Standards and their impact on educational achievement, the drop out rate, and New York States’ economy.
