What did you get out of your time with LPP?

I joined Liberty when I was around 12 or 13 for the purpose of developing my social and academic skills. I joined because I had heard a lot of good things about the program and many of my friends were also joining. Participating in LPP gave me a safe place to go to vent my frustrations and receive support and guidance in solving my conflicts on my own. LPP also helped me form achievable goals for my future.

Upon graduation I enrolled in Morrisville State College first at the main campus in Morrisville, then at the Norwich campus. I felt better prepared for college as through training I received through LPP, I was able to focus and achieve my goal graduating with an Associateā€™s Degree in Liberal Arts in 2006. Liberty gave me the set of tools that helped me get through college enabling me to communicate effectively and use the team building skills that I would not had without LPP.

What are you up to now?

I currently work at Pathfinder Village in Edmeston, NY. Pathfinder Village is a facility which houses individuals with Down Syndrome. I have worked there for 7 years and it is a truly rewarding experience. I still live in my home town of New Berlin NY. The best part of my life is the knowledge that I have made my family proud.
