LPP alumni school:

Hunter College Liberty Partnership Program: Harlem Renaissance High School

Where are you at college?

I started college at Tidewater Community College and later transferred to Fulton Montgomery Community College. I plan on completing my Associates Degree in Liberal arts at Fulton Montgomery. Once I graduate, I plan on transferring to Clark and Atlanta University and studying Acting and/or Engineering.

What did you get out of your time with Liberty Partnership?

LPP helped me learn Time Management throughout high school. I got a lot of help with my college application and financial aid. LPP helped guide me for where I wanted to go to college and what I want to do with my life. I was ready to give up on high school and drop out, but LPP helped me stick with school and complete my goals.

What are you up to now?

Tidewater Community College didn’t work out for me, but LPP helped me realize I can transfer to a different school that better meets my needs. I am now working with LPP to get into Fulton Montgomery for their January admissions and am excited to begin college. Throughout the year I worked at H&M to save money for school.

How did LPP help you when you were in High School?

They offered me a space both during and after school to do my work and complete my applications. LPP taught me how to advocate for myself and speak to teachers who were giving me a hard time in class. The relationships I developed with LPP staff continue to help me through the ups and downs of life after high school and I am very grateful for all their hard work.

What is your advice to other students at HRHS as far as joining LPP?

Stay connected, they are of great support.
